Women in the Word: Old Testament

EVE – day 2

Genesis 1:27

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Genesis 2:18

…”it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

Genesis 3:19

“…for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

“with sin, came shame

Satan has a way of making us feel less ashamed of our sin (the thing that separates us from God), and more ashamed of ourselves (the thing that links us to him).

When we face the world, we are ashamed of our image, God-given though it is.

When we face God, we are ashamed of our sin.

He defeated sin, shame and death itself so we can be presented blameless and unashamed to the father.

& he closed the door on shame (FOR GOOD) and opened the door to repentance and freedom.

– Raecheal Myers

Galatians 5:1 “it is for freedom that Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

I felt in my heart that I should post my take-a-ways from today’s SRT post. Women in the word is such a powerful statement. We are here to learn, absorb and renovate our lives accordingly. This series is mighty inspiring!

She Reads Truth

She Reads Truth – Day 10 of the Lenten Season and once again I feel enriched with the word of God!

Loving on this verse today and everyday – Psalm 95:6-7

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”  Message
